Preparation for Patrol Leads
Patrol leads should meet before the camp to divide equipment among patrol members and assign cooking duties for each meal. Each patrol is responsible for planning and cooking one dinner and one breakfast.
Review the patrol duty roster and make sure every member knows their role before arrival.
Preparation for Patrols
- Check your personal gear against the packing list below
- Know your patrol’s meal plan and what ingredients you are bringing
- Arrive at drop-off on time — the program starts immediately after arrival
Preparation for Leaders
- Confirm patrol numbers and dietary requirements one week before
- Arrange transport for equipment trailer
- Brief patrol leads on emergency procedures and site rules
- Carry first aid kit and emergency contact list
Packing List
Clothing
- Uniform shirt
- Warm layers (fleece or jumper)
- Waterproof jacket
- Long pants and shorts
- Sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots
- Socks (bring extra)
- Hat and sunglasses
Sleeping
- Sleeping bag (rated to at least 5°C)
- Sleeping mat or roll mat
- Pillow (optional)
Personal items
- Water bottle (at least 1 litre)
- Sunscreen and insect repellent
- Personal medication (notify leaders)
- Torch and spare batteries
- Pocket knife (Scouts with knife permit only)
Food & cooking
- Patrol food as assigned
